As part of the 'Bharat Ki Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' celebrations, a series of events are being organized by the Government of India to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence.

Through this MyGov activity, we aim to revisit history and acknowledge our local heroes whose struggles during the Freedom Movement have not received prominence in the conventional storyline. Let's raise awareness about our freedom struggle & the unsung heroes associated with it. It’s time that the contributions of fighters like Veer Gundandhur, Velu Nachiyar, Bhikaji Cama, etc. see the light of the day.

This is your chance to tell the story that must be told and honour the freedom fighters who have played an important role in making our nation free.

Share the stories with all the details and celebrate Bharat Ki Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with us.

Submission of Entries:
• All the entries must be submitted online through www.mygov.in

The Government of India launched 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' to celebrate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements. This festival began on March 12, 2021 -75 weeks prior to India’s 75th Independence Day on August 15, 2022 -and will continue until August 15, 2023. Another event was also kicked off to mark the 91st anniversary of Dandi March—the Prime Minister flagged off a march with 78 participants, recreating the original Dandi March led by Mahatma Gandhi from Sabarmati Ashram, Ahmedabad to Dandi, Navsari in Gujarat. The independence of a country depends on its citizens. In every country there are some brave hearts who voluntarily give their lives for their countrymen. Freedom fighters play an important role in the liberation of any country. India is the land of endless freedom fighters. Many are known and many are unheard. They all have their own way of fighting for freedom like some have chosen the path of non-violence. While some show their valor with pistols and swords in their hands. During the freedom struggle, there are many such youth of our country who also sacrificed their lives for the country, but we are still not familiar with those people. There are many freedom fighters of India who contributed to the freedom movement, but we are still unaware of their names. Our country, India was under the British. some fighters fought against the British for our freedom. Some of the important freedom fighters of India are Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Jawaharlal Nehru etc...
