Lack of livelihood opportunities for tribal people is one of the chief causes of their backward status as compared with the other social groups. This issue is aggravated by the high rate of displacements faced by tribal people due to various industrial projects etc., which also causes loss of livelihood for them among other things. This Ministry has been taking various steps for facilitating sustainable livelihood for tribal populations in different sectors. Stress has been given on vocational education and formal technical education for tribal youth. States are being encouraged to take upskill development initiatives for tribal youth with at least 50% of such activities to be oriented for women.

Through MyGov, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs seeks suggestions/information from all sections of the society regarding various livelihood possibilities for tribal people, availability of skilled/unskilled manpower still unemployed, various traditional skills available with the tribal population, new trends and interests among tribal youth, corresponding skilling needs and possibilities etc.

1. First tribals have to be shown that there is a better world waiting for them. For this they have to be shown videos of other tribals who have advanced in life. 2. The tribals should be given training on improving their handicrafts skills. Good quality tribal products can be given appeal and market all over India through e commerce 3. Ensure their visibility All tribals should be enrolled in AADHAR and tribal hamlets mapped. An angel donation website can be started for funding education.

sir,i think u have not understood triables well.the main probleme is they are happy with their situation.they enjoy their life ,and we try to make them happy,untill and unless they go to different places and think of improving their lifestyle no one can help.give them proper slippers ,shoes ,clothes,etc and let them feel this is better,only then they could be brought to the main streem. then u can give them education ,skill,job etc. missionaries are doing better than the gov;(for them)

I think we should provide basic facilities to facilitate their own activities like in N-E they are good in gardening and horticulture, in Western part they are good in pashucharan and coastal tribes are good in fishing etc...so we sould focus to give skill and information and facitities regarding these activities to empower them. It will be sustainable and inclusive.

In Tripura rubber cultivation helped nomadic tribal population for permanent settlement. Rubber based economy will boost further if tourism is clubbed with their rubber cultivation.

Tai people in NE India with origins from Yunan and Burma have become poorer. We must train these people to revive their culture and Govt. of Thailand, Govt. of Burma, Govt. of Yunan, (China) along with Govt. of India should work for their development. There are roughly 3-4 million Tai people in NE. Once the Thai princess visited a tai village Namphake to speak with the native Tai speakers. This shows the interest of the SE Asians in Indian tribe culture.

One major focus should be to initiate sustainable tourism ventures and provide training to the local tribal youth in skiils associated with the tourism and hospitality sector. This is urgently needed for communities located in the periphery of the protected areas and other major tourist sites.

To improve the rural citizen firstly give priority their own occupation for which they will get interest for a particular job. Some time it is seen that govt. instruction or policy is adapting for which interest level of people is not satisfactory.
