Lack of livelihood opportunities for tribal people is one of the chief causes of their backward status as compared with the other social groups. This issue is aggravated by the high rate of displacements faced by tribal people due to various industrial projects etc., which also causes loss of livelihood for them among other things. This Ministry has been taking various steps for facilitating sustainable livelihood for tribal populations in different sectors. Stress has been given on vocational education and formal technical education for tribal youth. States are being encouraged to take upskill development initiatives for tribal youth with at least 50% of such activities to be oriented for women.

Through MyGov, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs seeks suggestions/information from all sections of the society regarding various livelihood possibilities for tribal people, availability of skilled/unskilled manpower still unemployed, various traditional skills available with the tribal population, new trends and interests among tribal youth, corresponding skilling needs and possibilities etc.

Why can't we create smart and advanced village deep inside forest? Why we have to destroy their culture to empower them? Yes most of them are illitrate and so not suitable for higher post. But already our govt has so many welfare scheme for their upliftment. Only thing is, do not negect them, do not displace them. Uplift them in their native, provide quality education and job there. We can create lacs of small manufacturing unit, and can employ them. They travel all over India to do labour work.

Tribals are worst treated and neglected citizen of India. Whenever a new project come, their home is destroyed and they are thrown out of thier native. We all will agree that their native belongs to rich mines and forest area, which can provide enough job opportunity to them, so instead of displacing them make provision to give direct benefit to them. Whatever revenue we are generating from that area, spend atleast 40-50% on them. It will empower them and most of the naxalite problem will solve.

NAMASTEY ,Adarniya MODIJI, I consider that government employs/volunteers should go have contact with tribal people ,where they reside ,explained about their potential of converting their talent in making items like bamboo used for making sheds, carpets, mats, cotton for khadi, cloth, and similiar items including handicrafts ,pots ,diyas,to collected and submitted at small sub centres which will be known as collection centres in / near their villages and in return of that it will fetch them money

Dear Modiji For tribal development I thinkthey must be attached to cities . For example they tribal people can easily made aggarbatis and dhoops govt should talk to companies who made aggarbatis which results in large no employment. Nd can earn more. Sir we should initially do that things which do less training like Packing work Packing of shirts trousers etc like packing of fruits .

Instead of taking the highroad that we provide livelihood, we must encourage their vocations. They too have a rich culture and heritage and we must make them proud of that as well as sustaining it as we all have take the pledge daily. It is not how we change them but to encourage them and allow them to live their life.
