Lack of livelihood opportunities for tribal people is one of the chief causes of their backward status as compared with the other social groups. This issue is aggravated by the high rate of displacements faced by tribal people due to various industrial projects etc., which also causes loss of livelihood for them among other things. This Ministry has been taking various steps for facilitating sustainable livelihood for tribal populations in different sectors. Stress has been given on vocational education and formal technical education for tribal youth. States are being encouraged to take upskill development initiatives for tribal youth with at least 50% of such activities to be oriented for women.

Through MyGov, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs seeks suggestions/information from all sections of the society regarding various livelihood possibilities for tribal people, availability of skilled/unskilled manpower still unemployed, various traditional skills available with the tribal population, new trends and interests among tribal youth, corresponding skilling needs and possibilities etc.

sir 1st slavery and bondeed labourers are to be abolished! if we start new industries like textile or even sewage treatment plant which would help the environment they can be given job training under skill development ministry. Sewage tratment plant needs to be set up in various cities and towns to reduce water pollution thus this could be an effective alternative to the mainstream textile work

It depends on location. It may be farming, fruit/vegetable cultivation, fishery or collection of forest products. Some may be encouraged for group dairy or catering if there is opportunity for supplying food nearby. Some may be involved in teaching, crafting, sewing after skill development. They may be engaged in protection of flora & fauna & expanding the forest cover. They may be trained in protection of environment including water bodies. They can help fight social evils & help build society.

Dear Sir, I have one question for you. Under your initiatives recently Union Ministers started their tour to northeastern states but none of the ministers come to Mizoram when five Union Ministers already visited Manipur, Arunachal, Meghalaya and so on...Is NDA government of yours not include Mizoram in your Northeast development programme?

Hallo sir, Mein odisha ke rehnewala ST student hoon.Mein chahata hun ki hamara gaon develope kare.lekin mujhe lagta hai ki government ki sahayata yahan thik se utilise nahi ho raha hai.jaise ki yahan kuch family garibon se bhi jyada garib hai.inko govt. se ghar milna chahiye.lekin abhitak nahin mila.indira abas ghar milraha hai .lekin unko nahin ,jin logon ka ghar hai un logon ko.gaon ke ward member ko 2 times ghar mila. How? Please sir inquiry kijiye ki jin logo kenam pe ghar aya hai,ghar unhiko mila hai ,ya phir dusron ko diya gaya hai. Please sir apke taraf se enquiry kijiye..aur sir please mera nam declare mat kijiye ga.abhi hamare gaon ke umid apse hai.plz sir garibon ka madad kijiye .

Dear sir, We have to more focus on development of the tribal people to better the livelyhood of this people. We should form groups of educated and young students and technocrats. This people should motivated to donate their times not money. The knowledge and ideas if such people can change the lives of tribal people by learning, experiencing and educating. I hope this will be good step towards the humanity and for the development of young India. Thanks

Also the thing which is impinging on the livelihood of lots of poor Indians is the presence of illegal Bangaldeshi scums everywhere. Delhi is the example, ruthless propoganda should be mounted against giving them jobs by LUTYENS ELITES. Strong anti terrorist law and NSA should be invoked against these exploiters. Lots of jobs have gone to scums from Bangaldesh with lot of crime being incumbent. Anyso called Break India NGO or politico/media supporting them should be made to bear all the burden

Hon'able PM first of all the village industry, if we go for food processing industry rather than exporting foodgrains. Making value added products. In addition Ayurvedic plants, tribals have a good knowledge of it, however as Baba Ramdev showed the way,implement a good pricing policy and let them do the job.Minor forestry like pricing of Tendu leaves, discourage plastic MNCs, but village made bamboo sofas, chairs etc.They are skilled people.

WE CAN PROVIDE RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES TO PEOPLE OF VILLAGES, AND BY DOING THIS WE WILL BE ABLE TO PROVIDE THEM ELECTRICITY TO INCREASE THEIR LIFE STYLE.
