The electronics waste (e-waste) comprises of discarded electrical and electronic equipment, and poses serious challenges globally for improper disposal practices especially in informal sector.

Hon’ble PM has emphasized the need for creating awareness for environmental issues under “Swach Digital Bharat’ during his address at NASSCOM event on 01.03.2015. On the direction of Hon’ble PM, MeitY has initiated the “Awareness Programme on Environmental Hazards of Electronic Waste through Digital India Initiative” over a period of five years to create awareness among the public about the hazards of e-waste recycling by the informal sector and educate them about alternate methods of disposing their e-waste.

Over 95 per cent of e-waste generated is managed by the informal sector. Integration of the informal sector and access to environmentally safe recycling technologies may reduce the health and environmental hazards. In addition to technology, capacity building, skill management, scientific recycling mechanism, business management training are also required for safe recycling of e-waste.

In this context, MeitY is inviting citizen inputs to provide solution for leakage of E-Waste in the informal sector, and suggest proper recycling technology for E-Waste that is economically available.

The last date of submission of suggestions is 4th April, 2018.

For any further information about E-Waste, please visit the GREENE website.

E-waste includes plastics, metals, and battery fluids. If they can be separated at the E-waste handling centers, then plastics & metals can be melted and reused. Probably they won't be strong enough since a mixture of various kinds of stuff is present so they can be use to make children's toys, household decorative items etc. If it is possible to take the charge out of the battery fluid and make them reusable somehow using chemistry then those won't go into waste as well.

Why don't we make a Black Hole type waste bin, whatever we can not recycle we will just throw into it and it will vanish from the earth forever and by this we can make our earth unaffected from any kind of side effects of those things. If any scientist or any engineer can make it then pls make it. Thank you so much

make e-waste collection centre or collect e-waste from local vendor at special rate by subsidising so people won't through randomly. Govt. should use these waste for making road and dumping low lying area and etc by treating them. mega advt. campaign is required to successful e waste management programme.

The idea would be to create e waste bank where the companies/institutions generating e waste can deposit their e waste. In retun they can get vouchers for their deposit which will allow for a propr recycling and sustainable eco chain system for e waste for disposal and recycled use. Not only this the recycke e waste should be allowed to be used as a part of the circular economy and creating alternative use and/or safe disposal. The electronic waste in excess should be industrially recycled

I have a great plan of generating Petrol and Diesel from e-waste. The whole plastic material whether it's of any kind can be melted in a completely closed container by using heat from a renewable resource to generate petroleum products like petrol, diesel and aviation fuel removing all the plastic from the environment, cleaning the India#SwachhBharat

I request the Government to Implement a policy Stating Non ferrous Scrap buyers to Stop Buying Burnt Copper. Everyday people collect small quantity of Copper wire lying around, take them to open places and then burn them . Finall they take the burnt copper wire to local scrap dealers to make money. If Government Bans buying Burnt copper, Open air burning of copper will be stopped. This make the environment safe for us.
