The electronics waste (e-waste) comprises of discarded electrical and electronic equipment, and poses serious challenges globally for improper disposal practices especially in informal sector.

Hon’ble PM has emphasized the need for creating awareness for environmental issues under “Swach Digital Bharat’ during his address at NASSCOM event on 01.03.2015. On the direction of Hon’ble PM, MeitY has initiated the “Awareness Programme on Environmental Hazards of Electronic Waste through Digital India Initiative” over a period of five years to create awareness among the public about the hazards of e-waste recycling by the informal sector and educate them about alternate methods of disposing their e-waste.

Over 95 per cent of e-waste generated is managed by the informal sector. Integration of the informal sector and access to environmentally safe recycling technologies may reduce the health and environmental hazards. In addition to technology, capacity building, skill management, scientific recycling mechanism, business management training are also required for safe recycling of e-waste.

In this context, MeitY is inviting citizen inputs to provide solution for leakage of E-Waste in the informal sector, and suggest proper recycling technology for E-Waste that is economically available.

The last date of submission of suggestions is 4th April, 2018.

E-waste managment in India has to be different from devloped countries.Govt should reserve a small percentage of Gst from sale of electronic gadgets to manage the scrap generated. we should know exactly the scrap tonnage of each item.Every manufacturer should specify recyclable percentage of the goods manufactured by him & should be practical.Metal can be recycled but depends on amount of labour involved so are plastics.know exactly what % of landfill & combustible for energy

E-Waste includes computers, refrigerators, television sets, mobiles, printers, key boards, mother boards, LED bulbs, wires, Ubiquitous batteries of various types etc. India generates about 4 lakh tons of e.waste. I have an innovative economical & practical solution to convert e.waste into E-BRICKS without intervention of nano technology or million dollar investment. No space here to explain. E waste recycling is a great step but need to setup center of collection of ewaste in villages and suburban areas as due to non availability of resources of these collection centers in villages people throw the dangerous waste in public dustbin or in the empty space wherever they find it destroying our soil and water resources in village since every villager has a smartphone we can't avoid their contribution in its generation.each Industrial Area must have ewaste and plastic recycling unit

Hon. PM and Govt. has sincerely acted to control the banking and financial fraud, I want to suggest that, RBI has given audit autonomy to banks to appoint the auditor according to their choice, RBI should withdraw such audit autonomy and the control of audit including appointment of auditor should be controlled by the RBI independently, It will definately control the fraud of the bank upto some level, further,time given to statutory auditor should be atleast 7 days per branch, best wishes

E-Waste problem exist simply because there is no proper disposal system.Every Household,Office,Schools etc generate Ewaste nowadays so it is important to setup EWaste collection centers at every corner of the city for easy accessibility.Retail/Online outlets who are selling Electronics should share the responsibility and should be made responsible to collect & transport the waste back to manufacturing units where it can be easily dismantled and recycled.It requires a defined process but feasible

Hi I am Hitesh, Govt should take following initiative to manage E-waste: 1.As Mobile devices usage is on its peak today, Government should order all Mobile companies to include return/exchange old mobile option on buying of new mobile on their site as well as on all e-commerce sites. By this the user can get some money off on new mobile and the company can reuse the required parts. 2.All the electronics store like reliance digital,Croma,etc should have one exchange/return counter permanently.

The problem isnt limited to informal sector alone.Authorised collection centres r listed by the government yet only 10% of the e-waste collection centres r actually extracting the usable components & reusing it.Rest 90% of the collection centres ultimatly handover the collectd e-waste to informal recyclers.If the authorised centres r monitored & nagged properly,informal centre would eventually vanish.Surprise visit at collectn cntrs should be done by third party instead of pollution cntrl boards

Hello Sir, I m Avtar Singh from Ghaziabad. Sir, first problem with e-waste is lack of awareness about it, there is majority of people don't know e-waste. First spread awareness about it then sign a MOU with all electrical companies , which manufactured that products , of repurchase your products . Bcz companies are able to do recycle them bcz they have technologies , ordinary people don't have knowledge about , how to recycle all that. Thank you
