The electronics waste (e-waste) comprises of discarded electrical and electronic equipment, and poses serious challenges globally for improper disposal practices especially in informal sector.

Hon’ble PM has emphasized the need for creating awareness for environmental issues under “Swach Digital Bharat’ during his address at NASSCOM event on 01.03.2015. On the direction of Hon’ble PM, MeitY has initiated the “Awareness Programme on Environmental Hazards of Electronic Waste through Digital India Initiative” over a period of five years to create awareness among the public about the hazards of e-waste recycling by the informal sector and educate them about alternate methods of disposing their e-waste.

Over 95 per cent of e-waste generated is managed by the informal sector. Integration of the informal sector and access to environmentally safe recycling technologies may reduce the health and environmental hazards. In addition to technology, capacity building, skill management, scientific recycling mechanism, business management training are also required for safe recycling of e-waste.

In this context, MeitY is inviting citizen inputs to provide solution for leakage of E-Waste in the informal sector, and suggest proper recycling technology for E-Waste that is economically available.

The last date of submission of suggestions is 4th April, 2018.

To minimize the waste, proper awareness should be created to the people. standard international practice will be follow for the recycling process and decomposition. Centre should implement the extended producer responsibility for all e-waste.

All became cartel , only govt has to form alternate to any thing.... every thing...govt should hold control on e waste generating firms...

An inbuilt charge should be imposed on buyers i.e there should be an additional cost manufacturers ask from buyers in advance of taking back the discarded good and disposing of, it is ethically and morally duty of the manufacturing company to even take care of recycling e-waste,by this a common man would not have to worry about recycling, and even manufacturers will use material that can be recycled because it would be wholesole there responsibility for the goods supplied

Every manufacturer should be mandated to have built in cost for offering discount for buyback as this is the best informed entity bring parts to reuse or recycle or dispose safely In fact the same method must apply for while goods and auto industry There should be a ban on demolition / reconstruction of houses for the mandated life to decrease pollutants.

continued.... taken from those dustbins and it can be sent to Engineering college students or ITI students for making use of any wasted electronic part in their project work. 5) The competition can be organized to encourage the students and engineers to make best out of it. 6) Govt can run a website where anyone wants to sell or deposit it's electronic waste, can register on it- "a waste for one can be an asset for another".

Hello everyone, my suggestion may not be felt very effective but it will be once tried,so it is -1)Place dustbins at every corner on footpaths, near markets, madis etc. 2)Throw electronic waste like a Sim card in that dustbin but the dustbin must be made of Radiation-tolenrant dustbin and it should always be closed. 3)A waste collecting vehicle for electronic waste must be launched. 4)Not all electronic wastes are actually "waste" the one which are useful can be....

Fix a resale value for every packaging product and include in its MRP. This amount should be refundable to anyone who brings it back to recycling centers and company selling that product be charged that amount + handling charges. Eg, a bottle/chips pkt be marked at 50 paise and anyone depositing it back, gets that amount. The company supplying water bottle pays amount to recycling centers. Poor collectors will make assured money, middleclass won't throw it anywhere, rich won't mind paying.
