Given the sheer size of the NRI population I recommend we create focus groups that pick select issues, dive deep and drive change.. else this will become a virtual version of an adda conversation.. I will help create a group in Charlotte NC if the Govt can confirm you will give us a meaningful way to connect and contribute

India's defense strategy: India is now United States' largest customer with $10 billion purchase on the cards. India need to understand two things: With India and Pakistan both buying arms from US, remember the monkey and two fighting cats story. Second, if India is such a large customer, she should behave that way. Long term import substitution must be planned.

Dear Prime Minister, medical field needs a lot of regulation in India. Commercial private practice is bordering being unethical.General Medical council in UK is an example of a strict regulation of medical practice which can be emulated in India for the benefit of patients.

Further I saw many Pakis have set up Indian restaurants in USA/Europe as the name Paki just does not sell. I feel that patriotic NRIs should avoid such eating outlets as the profit from these Paki Units will eventually go for JUD/LeT/ ISI/ IM/ SIMI etc. Similarly NRIs shd not join the South Asian Association as these are fronts for Pakis as Paki Associations are looked down upon. Often, ISI also finance these so called South Asian Groups. So form Indian Associations for socio-cultural activities

I feel sad to observe that the NRIs are not doing enough to help India. A case in point: I visited an Indian Mall in Dallas and was shocked to find many Paki products on the shelves. I asked the Manager of the Store as to why he was marketing Paki products, as profit from trade would be used for terror activities in India. His reply, indeed shocked me more. he said that NRIs are buying Paki items as these are cheaper than Indian items, Paki Basmati rice is $2 cheaper than Indian B'mati rice.

Many NRIs are willing to return to India but man problem I education for their children in India. GCSE syllabus expects every child to learn state language & national language i.e, Hindi. How can children learn this when they had minimal exposure to this in their schools. therefore, Indian govt should carefully consider the language policy for the children who studied in overseas schools and now returned to India. Avoid exams on languages and focus only on internal assessment by teachers.

Consulate general in Toronto - do not respond to the emails in this day and age. They are public servant and here serve the public. Still bureacrates thinks they have the sull power to dealy tasks. Totally frustrated with the OCI renewal process and decided not to renew it. Who is at loss, India.

More on OCI renewal process - applicants over 18 required to submit application in person or send by courier. A family member cannot submit the application on behalf of other family member even if he has an authorization. A person can submit application by courier which is contradictory. Two separate drafts required for each applicants, a family of four requires eight drafts. Lot of bank chnages to make them. Payment by credit card not considered.
