OCI renewal process in Canada is bureaucratic and inefficient. Renewal is lterally same as OCI application. Whole process has no commonsense when it comes to documentation. Documentation provided at the time of OCI application are required again for OCI renewal. Seema copy of documents submitted earlier is not kept on the syatem which casuses major delays and issues for NRIs.

Customs regulation: There is a BIG need for regulation on Indian Customs department! A lot of Indians staying out India face a real big problem while going back to India wherein the biggest hurdle is passing through Indian Customs without getting any kind of instigating comments to ask for pity amounts from Indians coming home but at the same time scrutinizing them as if some thief came in hands of Police. If this is improved, I am sure more Indians would visit their home place!!

Why do I have to relinquish my Indian citizenship in order to take any other nationality? Most of the countries permit dual citizenship, then what is the problem with our government/bureaucracy? And does Indian Govt. even know about the overall outlook of the staff in those Overseas Embassies? Professionalism, Quality of Service and efficiency seem to be alien words to these staffs!! Ambience: There is none! All embassies smell of curries! No fresh air what-so-ever!

With the help of consulates and embassies, these associations can really use our culture and heritage as 'soft power' strategy and improve our country's image and reputation

As about sports india is capable of being number 1 in each and every sport but because not everyone can come out to show there talent there should be easy platforms everywhere if not permanent atleast temprary, its just cricket that's mostly prefered and it has clubs for people who want to show talents but we don't have clubs like cricket for other sports that's why we fall behind in those sports even after having talent...

As on May 2012, total overseas Indians population (NRI+ PIO) was around 2.2 crores (22 million), more than Delhi's population 1.7 crore (17 million)..can we ignore this? Let's create a VIRTUAL state "NRI-STATE" and allocate 10 virtual Loksabha seats (MP)...this will increase % of educated people in the govt making process...this is the only way to override illiterate masses of rural India.

I stay in Sweden, I have many friends here who came from deferent countries and they all have citizenship of there country as well as Sweden I think even Indians should have this option of having multiple citizenship
