most important thing is cost of khadi. by passing through many hands cost of khadi increases. so we must try that labourers get their due share but cost does not increase due to middle man. then advertisement on tv and then models in khadi outfits can show how can we use it for various outfits and moreover ready made khadi products if are avialable sale will increase..moreover tie up with branded companies to use khadi cloth in their outfts.multiple steps to b taken and of course solar charkhas

Sir, the khadi boards have long been neglected. Khadi symbolises the earthy Indian. It is time to make both Khadi & other village products fashionable. All it requires is a rehaul of its working along with designers to make changes in product presentation, after all the product is great, as any of us who uses it knows. The handicraft items, hand made paper & slippers, food items - including good honey & other herbs need to be repackaged & better advertised. Khadi showrooms need a facelift.

Rural women should be involved in creating co-operative ventures in the villages. Depending on the agricultural and allied industry in the area, local value addition ventures should be taken up. Ideas and help in initiating the venture may come from may come from Amul or Lijjat ventures. Cooperative ventures may be taken up for animal husbandry and handicrafts such as Khadi.
