From experiences in Rural Indian Education Systems:
1) A computer per school to be allotted in rural India for seamless transfer of admin work between village, block and district department. This will save 95-100 days of HMs in an year, which currently goes into delivering "Daak".
2) Leadership training to be given to newly appointed HMs so that he can efficiently manage all the stakeholders of a school.

Why can't government take initiative in opening more Kendriya vidyalays ? Probably in every district and admissions to local kids. This will help provide uniform and focused education across the country.

Yeah we accept we need 100% literacy but to make it success we must make schools such that they must die to attend schools...but i think Quality and technique of education is more important..education must be served such a way that he must be capable of doing everything he is interested..Education must given not to score but for LEading successful life happily

Centre should upgrade the existing school leadership framework into a national policy to create a cadre of education leaders, institutions par excellence and competent headmasters
1. Introduce Indian Education Service to ensure better governance practices
2. Establish Indian Institute of Education to create skilled education leaders
3. Competency based appointment of headmasters by states.
4. Short-term education leadership trainings by Leadership Development Institutes under the state govts

It is a tragedy that people discuss more about ideas at tea stalls than at school. Schools must not function in a mechanistic way it should be like going to a temple or mosque or church. It should be a place where everyone can visit and learn at any time and whatever they want.It should be a place for discussion of ideas and solutions rather than discussing about the next movie in theater. That would be the true education and true development, by changing mindset and little or no money!!

My suggestion: Like many private/convent schools, govt schools should have a yearly alumni visit/interaction with the secondary school students. This kind of open and direct interaction with their well established seniors will certainly inform them about different career prospects, different course of study and way of life from the very beginning. Further, it will guide them to choose a career path for them depending upon their ability & interest.-Doctor,engr,leader,lawyer,army,designer,reporter
