The country is well endowed with many metallic and non-metallic mineral resources.  India is a leading player in respect of many non fuel minerals including, iron ore, bauxite, dolomite, lime stone and mica.  Mining sector (non-fuel) currently accounts for approx 0.5% of GDP.  For accelerated economic growth on sustainable basis, this sector has to grow at a much faster pace to secure   a higher percentage in the GDP.
 
Scientific, sustainable and transparent mining practices require well trained manpower.  Skill development not only enhances productivity and safety at work place, but more importantly, it prepares the manpower to adapt to the new state of art technologies. Currently this sector employs around 0.2 Million workforce which is estimated to grow to 0.3 Million in next 10 years.

It should be from Goverment only, but we should bring methods adapted in other sussesful countries. We should bring one expert from other country

The skill development exercise in the mining sector should be undertaken by the public sector. Seeing as already there exists large scale corruption in the mining sector have the private sector involved in skill development may give rise to problems such as nepotism or differential treatment. The government should instead set up centers for skill development in mining areas and consult with the private sector on the courses and skills required.

Greeting sir, it should be PPP. In this govt. should have controlling role or checkers role. Be strict in proper implementation of the work.

A PPP model can solve this issue, has we know that when Professional Course such as Engineering was needed an introduction of IIIT's were setup with the help of Private Partnership along with Government. Apart from this the gap between Industry requirement will be further reduced by bring in quality of the education.

Private sector may impart skill development exercise but Public sector or appointing authority should check the quality of the skill developed in a person.

Government is to govern, make policies, implement them and have control over the policy working. Private sector should be given charge of growth and development when we say about any working of industry,service sector or any. Which provides job orientation on larger scale effectively and efficiently. Thus i am in favour of giving private sector the charge of skill development exercise in minning sector.

Res PM Sir you will find that near about 80% employee of private companies lives in rented homes, because at this time plots rates are so high and its very difficult to purchase a plot in our current salaries, if you launch a scheme of housing society for private sector wrokers it will be very helpfull to us , hum bhi apna ek ashiana chathe he.

i think the skill development exercise in mining sector should be taken by public sectors. especially by the students and universities that are giving out degrees in the mining field. that way students can start off early in their careers and also get first time hands on information about their relative field. why not private sector? major reason is cost effectiveness and another reason is it will be fear of monopoly of any particular company as this field is relatively new.
