The city of Davanagere is located at a distance of about 260 km from the state capital of Bangalore. It is nestled at the foothills of the Western Ghats. Previously known for its cotton mills, it is a fast developing city of Karnataka. The arid town was once a thriving textile center. This place is also called as 'Manchester of Karnataka' or textile capital of South India.

Davanagere City Municpal Council came into existence on 7th Aug, 1951. Later it is upgraded as Davanagere City Corporation on 6th Jan, 2007. Presently it has jurisdiction over an area of 68.63 Sq. Kms with over 1.5 lakh properties. Davanagere City Corporation is situated at the P B Road, opposite to City Railway Station, Davanagere.

For its governance, the Davanagere City Corporation is divided into 41 wards, each represented by a Corporator. The Corporators elect the Mayor, who is the administrator of the City and serves office for a term of one year. The administration of the Corporation is vested in the Commissioner, who is designated by the State Government.

1.first remove vinayaka buses ..put some more govt busses 2.keeping city clean by putting dust bins everywhere. 3.introduce rain water storage .to improve ground water. 4.Film posters,flex boards should be banned. 5. Davanagere city is located in the center of Karnataka with good road and railway transportation facilities. This city has good environment for education in engineering and medical. Make this city as smart with cleanliness, 24 hours electricity for domestic and industrial loads. There are opportunities to make this city as large industrial city. There is sufficient land for high capacity solar power generation.

start center for excellence,where you can give training to teachers,students,artists,sports persons and musicians.built international conference hall(multi purpose hall).computerized control system for water supply,power supply and gas supply.control over the real estate business. computerized police system,traffic system.

Facilitate more for small scale industries Need wider roads with parking slots and footpaths. Renovate/upgrade Railway station, Private & Ksrtc Bus stand. Overall infrastructure wrt broad roads, street lights, drainage,parks,road side plantation & parking is a must Dust should be eliminated Proper waste management
