Tiruchirappalli City Municipal Corporation has been ranked first among 12 cities selected for implementing Smart City project in Tamil Nadu and is gaining momentum to get shortlisted in the final round of Smart City Challenge where 20 cities would be selected in the first year.

The vibrant citizens of Tiruchirappalli are requested to post their views pertaining to municipal and city’s basic infrastructure such as water supply, electricity, sanitation, waste management, transport, parking, energy,housing, IT solutions,safety and security. Residents are encouraged to give their ideas and suggestions at city level as well as local area level solutionsin Tiruchirappalli.

Let us join hands together in making Tiruchirappalli a global Smart City!

To be provided 24 hours water supply for entire city, Remove encroachments along the Road side, widening the roads and beautification of Parks etc.,

Try to improve tourism destinations at Trichy and Introduce more international flights from various countries to Tiruchirappalli regularly and thereby increase foreign tourists to Trichy

In Tiruchirapalli City, Thillai Nagar is emerging and has emerged as the city hub with credentials of smart city. To add more info to make Thillai Nagar as smart city, it is necessary to install CCTV, replace existing electric lamp posts by low power solar lights to save electricity, LED lights, Digital Hoardings powered by solar,Shopping Malls, digital sign boards, Automated signalling, replacing cellular phone base stations with small equipments placed in lamposts on the centre of highway.

Since Smart City is looking at citizen participation, firstly, the Govt. websites need to be updated with recent information about population, area, existing infrastructure (power, water supply, sewerage, roads, bridges, parking areas etc.),real estate, socio-economic data, transportation, tourist information etc. which will enable the citizen to be updated about their city.

To be a smart city trichy needs to get a better transport facility as there should be more buses to all places in city should be covered through it with GPS tracking facility to locate where the bus while we were in bus stops and we shall introduce smart cards for city transport as we can recharge it and use it to get tickets on Automatic ticket generator which will be fixed in every bus stops and city bus terminus.
