Tiruchirappalli City Municipal Corporation has been ranked first among 12 cities selected for implementing Smart City project in Tamil Nadu and is gaining momentum to get shortlisted in the final round of Smart City Challenge where 20 cities would be selected in the first year.

The vibrant citizens of Tiruchirappalli are requested to post their views pertaining to municipal and city’s basic infrastructure such as water supply, electricity, sanitation, waste management, transport, parking, energy,housing, IT solutions,safety and security. Residents are encouraged to give their ideas and suggestions at city level as well as local area level solutionsin Tiruchirappalli.

Let us join hands together in making Tiruchirappalli a global Smart City!

public service oriented organizations like "Shine Trichy" should be encouraged both public and city cooperation. They have to work together to bring out new ideas which will help in making trichy a smart city.

Integrated Bus stand is mainly important as existing bus stands are not capable of handling traffic and passengers during peak hours and weekends.

**Proper Drainage System ** High Standards-Roads **Trees asides Roads **Quality Water to Each Home/Streets **Walking Corridors w/ adequate Basket facility through out the City. **Theme Park **Assessing all Underground Cabling Works, before laying Quality Roads in & around City **Standardization of Govt. Schools **Encouraging Govt. Staff/Students to do Rural/Village activity- Planting, Traffic Guidance, Ethics Outside & so on **International Airport Confirmation. #Tiruchirappalli

Footpaths across all major commercial areas can be improved. Areas near central bus stand, more parking facilities and installation of public conveniences can be considered.

Widening of roads Greater care towards Afforestation in Tiruchirappalli Improvement of Railways and implement mono rail services or Local suburban trains for in and around Trichy Districts. Upgradation of Tiruchirappalli International Airport. Upgrade NIT Tiruchirappalli to IIT Implementation of IISER / IISC / IIST - Institute of national Importance for Scientific Improvements. Greater Importance for Markets Areas ( Palpannai to Gandhi Market ) Upgradation of Anna Planetarium

In my opinion, Internet of Things should be used extensively to make the Smart City dream a reality in smart parking - sensors will detect congestion and establish dynamic parking pricing smart grid - smart meter data serve to increase grid reliability smart street lighting - this could be implemented immediately, where LEDs and solar street lighting with smart controllers will reduce energy consumption
