Misleading advertisements, tricks gullible consumer in purchasing the products and services which are often health hazards or substandard in quality, for example – various pills/food supplements, fairness creams, etc.  The Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India having its office at New Delhi, would not be able to check the menace of misleading advertisement without the active participation and help from the State Governments, local self-Governments and the Police department of the States. These authorities are expected to intensify their action against the misleading advertisements as also the misleading advertisers on their own or once altered by the voluntary consumer organizations.

IF GST RATES ARE PEGGED AT 14%, NO LOSS TO EXCHEQUER? WITH STRINGENT CHECKS AND ENFORCEMENT OF LAW COMPLIANCE, CASH ECONOMY WILL DEFINITELY SHRINK AND MOST TRANSACTIONS WILL BE ON RECORD. OVERALL VOLUMES WILL INCREASE ON DEALERS’ BOOKS AND SO WILL THE STATES' REVENUE. NO NEED TO COMPENSATE AFTER THREE YEARS. SMART MOVE BY MODI GOVT.

Ads that spread false concepts and hurt sentiments of a large group of people need to be censored. For eg: Fair & Lovely/ fair & handsome ads show that people gain confidence and success if they're fair complexioned which is absolutely racist. It definitely hurts the sentiments of all dark complexioned however good looking they are.

Our country has got huge youth power. We can utilize this in setting up telephonic courts which can operate in call centre model. If we find anything ir-relevent in any ad we just need to call which is easiest way of filing a complaint. Its very cost effective and does not require much time to start up even.

I think there should be a guideline for all states, for all T.V. channels and for all those places or medium where these types of Advertisements are published. And that guideline should be online so that anyone could access it and even a citizen could complaint over it which will be done by online on a particular website of that concern department and there should be a time period to take action over that concern complaint like as in RTI.
