Misleading advertisements, tricks gullible consumer in purchasing the products and services which are often health hazards or substandard in quality, for example – various pills/food supplements, fairness creams, etc.  The Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India having its office at New Delhi, would not be able to check the menace of misleading advertisement without the active participation and help from the State Governments, local self-Governments and the Police department of the States. These authorities are expected to intensify their action against the misleading advertisements as also the misleading advertisers on their own or once altered by the voluntary consumer organizations.

if state government, local body or police try to become regulator of misleading advertisements, then the only outcome will be that their employees will become crorepati and the hapless citizen will not get any relief. When we will learn from the experience of 65 years ? Entire corruption in society, governance, everywhere is only due to the presence of so called government servants (the so called steel frame of the country is now only a frame for harassment and extortion of citizens).

I think in this regard media and advertisers play a very important role in giving the right information to the general public. Media ad and advertisers should be very cautious in publishing such fake news and should first review the news whether it will affect the general public. Media ads and advertisers should also be responsible for publishing such news. Fines should be imposed on publishing the misleading advertisers so that they will never publish such news. A toll free no. for complaining.

1.Create awareness about fake ads among local population.2. Encourage people to report about the ads.3.Punish the makers ,media according to the law. Give the right to Consumer groups to sue the media if its aired.4. Make it a criminal offence to air such ads. 5.All ads has to go thru a govt certified agency before getting aired.,so that there is accountability.

Does this query list those on-line advts. too? I find, Indians are dependent upon mainly USA-based websites and emails. Possibly our date-centers, computer-capacities to handle all inhouse web-traffic & own-email services are meagre. ""Is it not time to rope in Indian giants like INFOSYS, TCS, WIPRO, COGNIZANT, MAHINDRA-TECH & Telecom.COs LIKE TATA, RELIANCE, AIRTEL etc to establish a time-bound NETWORK WITH ALL SAFEGUARDS & FIREWALLS?" It's high-time,we save& police our airwaves & airspace

Govt run regulatory body accredited Quality Check Centers / Labs which will ensure the validity of product, research done by the company. company should be allowed to advertise only approved product. something like ISO, NABH, Blood bank licensing etc. However, maintaining, high standards and transparency in work done by these Quality Check Labs.

in TV Ads such like MEDICAL & HEALTH CARE products they are showing as 'Doctors preferences' acting by modeling guys, It should be strictly prohibited. IT is a open fraud.
