Sir govt can institute censorship on advertisements as to their content, their impact on the public and content of truth in the claim made through the ad.Advertisements shall be telecast only after getting its approval.this process will be easy as compared to films as ads are of short duration

See the misleading advertisement by UIDAI. "Aadhar is your birth right ". THIS IS TOTALLY FALSE. HOW does supplying foreign linked companies with my biometric data become my birthright ? Citizens are fooled by the government. Media is silent because they earn crores of revenue from advertisements and poor citizen is taken for a ride.

Advertisements by Government should be truthful first. See the advertisements for linking bank accounts with LPG. The captions will say aadhar is not necessary. Then in the form they want an undertaking that we will obtain aadhar. Is this not cheating us. First the government should be truthful.

Police will do nothing. Only Strong NGOs can make public aware of the FALSE AD. Actually, cases under IPC 420 should be slapped against them for cheating the public.

State governments shall open Consumer Rights Protection Cell (CRPC) at district levels which shall meet with all the local body government representatives monthly with the issues raised by their people against the misleading advertisements. Advertisements those containing crime culpabilities shall be handed over to legal cell who can work with the area police to register a case under fraud. The legal assistance shall be provided free of cost to promote consumer issues. Thank you.
