Misleading advertisements, tricks gullible consumer in purchasing the products and services which are often health hazards or substandard in quality, for example – various ...

Misleading advertisements, tricks gullible consumer in purchasing the products and services which are often health hazards or substandard in quality, for example – various pills/food supplements, fairness creams, etc.  The Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India having its office at New Delhi, would not be able to check the menace of misleading advertisement without the active participation and help from the State Governments, local self-Governments and the Police department of the States. These authorities are expected to intensify their action against the misleading advertisements as also the misleading advertisers on their own or once altered by the voluntary consumer organizations.

Suggestions are invited on how the State Govt., local self-government and Police can take effective measures against Misleading Advertisements.

I donot know where to complain against my LPG distributor who is booking cyl against my name and selling it in black. I have complained on phone no 18002333555 but no action taken. I complained on pgportal.gov.in. still no action taken. Is this responsive goverment.

Requesting competent authority to execute the order of supreme court regarding Who can uses Beacon light or who cannot ? This will help to bridge the gaps between the citizens and bureaucracy.

Sub: Corruption in Appointment Sir, If the dreams of “Achche Din” & “Swachcha Bharat” has to be realized, corruption has to be eliminated. It prevails in every aspect of life. MISLEADING / UNSCIENTIFIC ADVERTISEMENTS TO BE TREATED AS CRIMINAL OFFENCE / CHEATING & SUITABLE ACTION TO BE TAKEN AGAINST THE PERSONS / ORGANISATIONS WHO RELEASE SUCH MISLEADING ADVERTISEMENTS & AS SUCH CITIZENS CAN LODGE POLICE COMPLAINTS & IT IS THE ONUS ON THE PART OF ADVERTISERS TO DISPUTE THE CLAIM OF COMPLAINANT. All foreign layers in cosmetics, fitness areas must be regulated such that they dont over brand themselves as No.1, recommended by specialists, etc. All these activities which focusses more on "Look" of our country man has an side effect to make our country man feel inferior. For ex, the fairness cream advts like one can get job/get a bride/get a groom - only if they are fair is against humanity and this needs to be banned by ordinance.

The majority of misleading advertisements are in the space of Cosmetics, Fitness, Astrology and Finance. At one side when Media and TV channels are criticizing HRD minister's visit to an astrologer, its the same network's another commercial/entertainment channel opens up daily/weekly.monthly predictions on early morning at every home. The ordinance is required to stop this. So we need ordinance to stop "commercialization" of any thing like this including the Tele-advertisements

Misleading advertisements are not only in the form of "weight loss in 30 days" or "Hair growth in 1 month" etc. There are many other misleading advertisements. An example, the tooth pastes like Colgate, Pepsodent, close-up etc are all tagging them as No.1 tooth paster recommended by dentists. The govt should pass an ordinance we should prohibit these kind of advertisements with self ranking be stopped. The majority of misleading advertisements are in the space of Cosmetics, Fitness
