Misleading advertisements, tricks gullible consumer in purchasing the products and services which are often health hazards or substandard in quality, for example – various pills/food supplements, fairness creams, etc.  The Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India having its office at New Delhi, would not be able to check the menace of misleading advertisement without the active participation and help from the State Governments, local self-Governments and the Police department of the States. These authorities are expected to intensify their action against the misleading advertisements as also the misleading advertisers on their own or once altered by the voluntary consumer organizations.

Suggestions are invited on how the State Govt., local self-government and Police can take effective measures against Misleading Advertisements.

Advertisers as well as medium used for advertising should be registered with local economic and business development cell - local IAS responsibility. ALL advertisers doing unauthorised advertising - posters on walls etc. must be fined. These fines collected should be used by local authoroties for local beautification. There should be selected and authorised places and formats for advertising. Advertisers must pay rent for use of the mediums.

Advertisements should also contain the evidence for the claims/statements in any form as reference or dated/proven facts. Responsibility for proving of any sort of appeals by consumers regarding misleading advertisements must lie with the advertisers. For this they must be held accountable through monetary compensation and fine paid to Government or punishment of moratorium on their advertisements or products would deterring them to resort to such practices.

They get minimum salary which is hand to mouth only. There is a huge difference in officers and jawan in all means let it be salary, facilities, privileges or other amenities. They are protecting her BHARAT MATA but these highly paid officer think that javaans are slave and behave in same way. Please reduce the differences by all means. Jai Hind

Previously where there a JCO was posted now a days that post is governed by a senior officer along with two other officers. Then where is the deficiency ??? This is only to hike pay nd allowances in the coming pay commission stating there is shortge of Officers. Is there sufficient jawans????? Actually system is running with lack of jawans. My humble request to Mr PM nd Mr Raksha mantri to find out the really cause. If there is a need of hike of pay and allowances then it is the jawans first.

It has been observed since last pay commission(6th) that when pay commission is about to declared, at that time these types of nonsense articles are posted in every newspaper and media. Is there really deficiency of Officers in Armed Forces ?????????? Really no. It is only to hike pay and allowances in the coming pay commission mentioning less Officers in Armed forces view less salary. Do u agree with it?????? If they r getting less pay and allowance nd privilege then why their retire % is les

Police can file cheating cases if there is prima facie evidence of shortfall in performance of product or service as compared to what the advertisement promised....that would be a criminal offense.....but more important is the class action case which needs to be filed on behalf of the large number of consumers. The local government or state government must help in the logistics of the process....
