Addressing his fellow Indians from the Red Fort on 15th August 2014 the Prime Minister called for replacing the Planning Commission with another Institution that is in sync with the modern times and most importantly in sync with the aspirations of 21st century India. The Prime Minister also emphasized on the important role the states have to play in taking the nation forward.

This forum invites your innovative ideas on what shape will this proposed institution take in terms of structure, composition and area of functioning. Another area of focus that requires your inputs is how this proposed institution can enhance Centre-State coordination and thus become a true celebration of India’s Federal Structure.

State coordinated committees to realize the problems in root level. Otherwise, the chunks of money would be spent by the states according to their whim and may not address the problem. This way both state and central gov can attack the problem together; Through this way the state govt cannot also whine later as the decision would be taken at the state level.

Indian institute of technology and AIIMS and other colleges student unions Really, The youth of today are much more connected and aware.they will plan better as it is our"future" so we as future of Republic of India should be able to decide what to do in next 5 years because like half the people in planning commission are like oldies and god knows if they will even live to see the next 5 years.so it is logical to replace planning commission by student union.donttakeartsstudentstheyaredumb.jai h

Why there is need of new institution instead of overhauling old one ? 1. As famous Management Guru Govindrajan says “ Organisations like Elephants never forget” and that organisations develop a particular DNA. 2. Aversion to Change : In big monolith organisations/ departments, whenever few persons join, they adapt to the culture of the organisation instead of bringing any change. New body should be a lean one, manned by new set of management with no baggage of old ideas.

In the light of changing global and domestic environment and also empowering state Governments to strengthen Indian Federal Structure . I personally feel that the present Planning commission may be replaced by "Indian Federal Planning and Development Commission " with different structure and composition so that it can take care of our Federal structure , empowering state Governments and optimally utilizing our resources to march ahead towards making India a 'SuperPower'.

The organisation will both plan and be responsible for implementation of plans together with the Ministriy(s) concerned. Hence it should be matrix-structured: Centres of Expertise (horizonta)l & Geopgraphical Implementation Monitoring (vertical) and Central relationship management & coordination. Use private experts and local people in the implementation teams - for pay or only ofr coveing expenses.

Success of country depends upon the Success of plan, and plan depends upon only on accuracy of process data which are generally provided by polluted means either govt or private. So we should develop such means to get accurate data with honesty and motivation towards the country's development. second thing its projection must be at least for 100 years. And other supporting activities should be very fast and less time consuming so that it's benefits goes to the country and people of the country.

The proposed body should have research wing to guage trends affecting flare up inflation and measure to pre empt such situation. Effective steps to create cooperative societies or other bodies to take care in case of agricultural produce (like nafed or amul) in case of bumper crop and timely ordering imports to meet domestic demands for consumer goods be suggested by such bodies to make the profiteering middlemen ineffective. This will help in containing the inflation to a grear extent.

We never follow the complete road map design by The Planning Commission because : 1. the data send to it is not adjact . 2. prepared road map is misleading.3.implementation is so delayed which cross the estimate .4. It design only for five years out of 5 years more than 2 - 3years taken for data collection , 1-2 years for tabulating and designing action plan for a short period for implementation and this way next plan is schedule .So Result is zero. planning should be 100years full proof .

agriculture gives food to our body. education gives food to our brain. power generation techniques should be researched. If these things are kept in mind basically then India can progress rapidly.ie, plough, pen and wheel are symbols of prosperity. People's welfare should be paramount. Because planning is done for betterment of people, in turn nation.
