Addressing his fellow Indians from the Red Fort on 15th August 2014 the Prime Minister called for replacing the Planning Commission with another Institution that is in sync with the modern times and most importantly in sync with the aspirations of 21st century India. The Prime Minister also emphasized on the important role the states have to play in taking the nation forward.

This forum invites your innovative ideas on what shape will this proposed institution take in terms of structure, composition and area of functioning. Another area of focus that requires your inputs is how this proposed institution can enhance Centre-State coordination and thus become a true celebration of India’s Federal Structure.

Further to this it should cater as a guiding light to technological dev in medical, defence, advanced tech, space research, markets thru various boards all of which report into a chairman. The task of the entity should be to serve as a guiding light and collate/synergize various govt departments. It should also have a dedicated researcg and dev wing for all the fields mentioned.

I will suggest that we keep the mandate of the new entity to setting the agenda on a fisc yr basis, help various ministries in planning their finance and also chide ones trailing targets via Annual Performance reviews/appraisals published in public domain. It should have dedicated cells catering to specific domains like human capital dev, skill dev, economic dev, housing dev, education, health etc which are headed by eminent experts who server as mentors for these. Sir we have to focus on our poverty. Because poverty of country will reduce our country's image.So in this new institution take all possible steps to increase our economic growth.

CORRUPTION IS MOTHER OF ALL THE PROBLEMS------Various dept. & ministries of govt. are working in different sectors ---- as such planning commission is not required ---- but for better co-operation among various ministries -special --Project/Task Coordination department------and special anti-corruption department

My suggestion fro replacing the planning commission 1. Identify different regions based on Geography,Demography,and Livelihood from the country 2. Assign the task of planning of these different regions to different people including experts,Chief Minister or ministers,local MP's and MLAs, and involvement of some Local bodies representative. 3. These groups of different region should be made accountable for whole planning. 4. Central Ministers should be given the task of managing these groups.

Global economy and the scenario in India, everything is evolving and landing into a transformation period. Our thinking should also get updated in line with what's happening globally. If what is being thought in place of the Planning Commission is what is going to become another Planning Commission that would need a replacement after five years, there is no point of this initiative now. A lot of selfless planning is needed. Please take the view of all the think-tanks. Make it apolitical. Please.
