We bring to you this wonderful news that our city-Pasighat has been selected under 23 fast track cities by Govt. of India and we need to submit the revised plan by 15th April 2016. As we know that we worked very hard in our previous attempt however unfortunately we missed coming in the first 20 list of cities and finished at 39th rank - missing by just 3 points. Let us take this as a positive feedback that we were very close to winning it and were far ahead of many other big cities.

Looking ahead, we need to work on the gaps identified by Govt. of India to revamp the proposal. One of the key weaknesses identified is SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threat) analysis. Here, specifically, Weakness and Threat needs to be more elaborate. We have uploaded a discussion page on mygov portal about this aspect of proposal and need support of people of Pasighat to come up in big numbers and contribute towards this discussion. Let’s brace up for this challenge and work with renewed and reinvigorated spirit in the direction of making Pasighat a smart city.

With its proximity to major officers including the office of the Deputy Commissioner, AIR, BSNL etc the area for redevelopment is most appropriate.

Also area chosen for redevelopment in the city is very appropriate as it mostly comprises of old buildings and other structures. Several buildings in eh area appear to be unfit for dwelling.

There is the point of view, as well, and this is that in civilized societies the planning of jobs should be for people and not the planning of people for jobs that may or may not appear. Modern methods of production have given us the possibility of ease and security for all; we have chosen, instead, to have overwork for some and starvation for the others. Hitherto we have continued to be as energetic as we were before there were machines; in this we have been foolish.

A Smart city also has to be a CLEAN CITY, so provide garbage bins at required locations to collect waste and it has to be used properly by the public.

Manpower planning cannot be carried out in isolation from macroeconomic phenomena. On the other hand, that part of macroeconomics that is interested in creating jobs cannot ignore who the jobs are for in terms of the skill, sex and age base of the population. This is because the determinants of economic growth are strongly related to the characteristics of the labour force in terms of its skill, education, flexibility etc.

In the Pasighat lots of street animals (dogs, cows, pigs etc...) that roam around in the streets of Pasighat especially in market area. It causes accidents and animal dung on roads. This should be take care by the Pasighat municipal council.
