We bring to you this wonderful news that our city-Pasighat has been selected under 23 fast track cities by Govt. of India and we need to submit the revised plan by 15th April 2016. As we know that we worked very hard in our previous attempt however unfortunately we missed coming in the first 20 list of cities and finished at 39th rank - missing by just 3 points. Let us take this as a positive feedback that we were very close to winning it and were far ahead of many other big cities.

Looking ahead, we need to work on the gaps identified by Govt. of India to revamp the proposal. One of the key weaknesses identified is SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threat) analysis. Here, specifically, Weakness and Threat needs to be more elaborate. We have uploaded a discussion page on mygov portal about this aspect of proposal and need support of people of Pasighat to come up in big numbers and contribute towards this discussion. Let’s brace up for this challenge and work with renewed and reinvigorated spirit in the direction of making Pasighat a smart city.

Socio-cultural tourism is aims at educating the tourists about the rich and varied Adi culture and educating the residents of Pasighat of the principle of “athithi devo bhava” and its economic implications. Home stays should be encouraged for this purpose. During the festivals of the Adis, the tourists should be encouraged to participate in “Delong Poknam”, “Ponung Nunam” and “Ponung Moman” to have a wholesome experience.

Owing to the “Swachch Bharat Mission”, Pasighat seems much cleaner and the people are aware of the need for cleanliness. Further, the authorities should arrange and manage a treatment plant so that solid wastes are not dumped somewhere else.

The Pasighat Municipal Council being in its transitional stage has to work out ways for disposal of wastes and garbage. The number of manpower and machinery has to be reviewed and strengthened. Needs just a little political will and interest.

. This chapter, therefore, examines the employment and manpower planning controversy and argues that the use of models for manpower planning do still have a role to play. Labour market models are useful both for labour market analysis and to help to design labour market information systems. Normally, the argument goes, models cannot be built without an underlying labour market information system.
