We bring to you this wonderful news that our city-Pasighat has been selected under 23 fast track cities by Govt. of India and we need to submit the revised plan by 15th April 2016. As we know that we worked very hard in our previous attempt however unfortunately we missed coming in the first 20 list of cities and finished at 39th rank - missing by just 3 points. Let us take this as a positive feedback that we were very close to winning it and were far ahead of many other big cities.

Looking ahead, we need to work on the gaps identified by Govt. of India to revamp the proposal. One of the key weaknesses identified is SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threat) analysis. Here, specifically, Weakness and Threat needs to be more elaborate. We have uploaded a discussion page on mygov portal about this aspect of proposal and need support of people of Pasighat to come up in big numbers and contribute towards this discussion. Let’s brace up for this challenge and work with renewed and reinvigorated spirit in the direction of making Pasighat a smart city.

Smart city is not only concern to modern amenities and high end technology. But it also concern to preservation and retaining of basic traditional features. So traditional practice of indigenous people should be preserved and promoted.

There is also vast space for Greenfield development. The existing space should be preserved for future Greenfield development. District administration should not allow it to use by any one.

In the natural calamity , the authorities need to be in preparedness by installing warning system to alert the citizen . Though the bank of the siang river has been protected by construction o flood protection dykes , bunds etc, care has to be taken regarding its periodical maintenance.

The concept of Pan city in the discussion highlighted the basics of e-governance. However some other components of e-governance like street lighting, roads etc have not been dwelt in detail. So need some more information on the matter.

It is indeed a privilege to see the cane bridges built across river Siang that are a marvel of native engineering. R. Wilcox who visited the area in 1825, remarked about these cane bridges: "We are quite astonished at the skill and labor shown in the construction of cane suspension bridges thrown over at this point: it was such as would do no discredit to the department for similar work in Calcutta.

With abundance of open space and sparsely populated, Pasighat can easily be turned into smart city. At any cost Pasighat should be made smart city in this phase.

In many areas of Pasighat, roads are found to be narrow and the absence of Drainage system is quite notable. The conditions of the roads are poor. But comparing other cities in other states and also within the state of Arunachal Pradesh, there is a scope for road widening and construction of Drainage system owing to the provision of spacious areas on either side of the roads.
