No idea will give desired results without root cause analysis for any problems. We must do some root cause analysis and then to decide corrective and preventive actions. Same to be implemented within target dates.

I would like to propose to install garbage bins in all coaches and encourage people to use them and also impose fines on those who do not obey these rules. This will help us improve cleanliness in and around rail lines both in cities and villages.

While traveling in trains I have noticed that the A.C. coaches have dustbins installed but second class, sleeper and other non A.C. coaches do not have such dustbins. In other word we are encouraging them to throw garbage through windows. I understand that we can not stop them from throwing garbage from windows just by installing garbage bins but there are people who wish to avoid this but have no other option but to throw garbage from window.

Cleanliness drive is bringing bad name because it has become more of cosmetic nature. To really implement it we need a structured program whch needs education to first top corporation officials on good housekeeping and international trends. And then quick education down below upto safaiwallahs and then measures to stop humungous corruption prevailing in munacipalities and corporations.

is there any activity happening on the ground under this umbrella? My senior citizen parents are suffering overflowing drains in Rana Pratap Bagh and complete civic authorities apathy for the past one year. no amounts of petitions to Delhi Jal Board have helped. Maybe we need to sensitise those in charge of all the departments how they can play a role in this. i am happy to join such a drive.
