The country is well endowed with many metallic and non-metallic mineral resources.  India is a leading player in respect of many non fuel minerals including, iron ore, bauxite, dolomite, lime stone and mica.  Mining sector (non-fuel) currently accounts for approx 0.5% of GDP. For accelerated economic growth on sustainable basis, this sector has to grow at a much faster pace to secure a higher percentage in the GDP.

Scientific, sustainable and transparent mining practices require well trained manpower.  Skill development not only enhances productivity and safety at work place, but more importantly, it prepares the manpower to adapt to the new state of art technologies. Currently this sector employs around 0.2 Million workforce which is estimated to grow to 0.3 Million in next 10 years.

Better work conditions particularly safety(Long term as well as short term) The mining work is exhaustive and the life of employees working in such conditions are affected. Most of the work is under the contractor and required safety and occupational hazard norms are not followed. To counter this, Both the organization and contractor and both of them should be responsible for welfare of the worker . A concept of maternity leave for workers should be there for women workers.

THE INCENTIVE STRUCTURE SHOULD BE A BALANCED MIX WITH FINANCIAL AND NON FINANCIAL SCHEMES. THE FINANCIAL SHOULD BE TAX FREE AND THESE SHOULD BE IN PROGRESSIVE FORM WITH MINIMUM GUARANTEE INCENTIVE. THE OTHER INCENTIVES SHOULD BE JOB ENRICHMENT/ENLARGEMENT/PROMOTIONS BASED ON MERIT, SUCCESSFUL IN TRADE TESTS WITH THE HIGHEST PROFICIENCY SHOULD BE PROMOTED ON OUT OF TURN BASED UPON MERIT. ALL THESE BOOSTS THE MORALE OF THE WORKFORCE.

IN THE TEMPO OF INCREASE IN PRODUCTION, THERE SHOULD NOT BE DAMAGE AT WORK SPOTS E.G., MACHINERY ETC., WHICH CAUSE MORE FINANCIAL LOSS TO THE DAMAGED PRODUCTION. THE INCENTIVES SHOULD BE FOR THE MORE OUTPUT WITH LOW COSTS.

Modi ji,Currently kendriya vidyalya allows only children of central government employees. Central government can start schools which are for general public. This will help in giving quality education like that of KV’s to all children at affordable fees. State owned school concentrate only on state level and are in really bad condition. Making such Centrally funded schools will also teach children to live together in unity because child from every house hold (rich and poor) will come there.
