The country is well endowed with many metallic and non-metallic mineral resources.  India is a leading player in respect of many non fuel minerals including, iron ore, bauxite, dolomite, lime stone and mica.  Mining sector (non-fuel) currently accounts for approx 0.5% of GDP.  For accelerated economic growth on sustainable basis, this sector has to grow at a much faster pace to secure   a higher percentage in the GDP.

Scientific, sustainable and transparent mining practices require well trained manpower.  Skill development not only enhances productivity and safety at work place, but more importantly, it prepares the manpower to adapt to the new state of art technologies. Currently this sector employs around 0.2 Million workforce which is estimated to grow to 0.3 Million in next 10 years.

A comprehensive regulating structure is required that will help tackle the issue from all angles. Eg. Strict laws for adherence both by employees and organizations, skills development plans backed by management's commitment, vocational training in requisite skills to the employees before joining the organizations, there has to be inspections and audits in place as well.

All kinds of pollutions should be included in swacch bharat abhiyaan . All the citizens are now aware about waste but what about air pollution?? Please spread awareness about it also. If the ozone layer depletes don't you think there will be many health problems?

India is still mining its resources in a very primitive manner, whereas we see rapid progress in the technology in this field. Our babus and enggs. are too complacent with their limited knowledge and skills, they fear burden of work. Our work culture has to evolve. We should start rewarding hardworkers and innovators in a genuine way. Stop promotions based on reservations, promote the winners and not the losers. Take developmental agenda and not appeasement path for rapid progression.

Govt should come out with an effective population control policy. This is the root cause of India's problem. And this requires very effective education system. Govt should put maximum attention in these areas apart from job creation.
