The attitude of the babus need to change at the embassies and consulates. The moment you interact with staff, you feel like you are asking a big favour and it is not your fundamental right to be served professionally. In the US, it always looked like that you have entered into a third world country domain! Also the New York consulate is shameful compared to a whole complex of China. Also the waiting times are too long and the queue extends from basement to the street as if citizens are beggers!

The Embassies of Middle east countries may ensure proper living and working environment while recruiting our semi skilled and skilled staff like nurses, teachers, mechanics, missionary workers, oil field khalasi, drivers, cooks etc. They are kept in sub-human environments while working under contracts. Some insistence from Government shall improve the basic behaviour for sure.

we have to request to embassies to promote degrees in India. A number of Universities are offering valued Direct admission to foreign students including Ph.D. and M. Phil. courses without entrance examinations. Research and Humanities shall enrich by and large and we shall get best goodwill ambassadors.

I live in Dubai, UAE. Most jobs are outsourced. The rush and long wait to get any job done is extremely frustrating. Very often after 3 to 4 horus wait we are told that this is an attestation center you will need to go to the other venue for Passport renewal. No information or help is available. After finally going to the right place, we again have to wait for hours and make multiple visits for several reasons such as photo not as per stipulated background, father's name inital expansion.

I had been in qatar till 2013 & visited indian embassy a few times (1) too much of rush most times, crowd management needed (2) token system not very clear, a person to be available to help poorly educated people (3) all forms to be available online. (4) all form info / procedure details to be made available online preferably in form download page. (5) Registration with embassy to be made mandatory or atleast embassy contact info should be given to all indians on boarding intl flight

OCI cards are a blessing for NRI's as it means not having to deal with Indian Embassy staff for visas. But the process can be simplified. Eg. OCI the photo size required is 50mmx50mm with light background (NOT PASSPORT SIZE). So my question is what is WRONG with the usual PASSPORT SIZE which I can get from any machine in London. For the special size I have go to a special machine that cost MORE. So who is benefiting? Not the NRI's! Fees should reflect value of service not what can be charged.
