Anti-dumping: The checks should ensure that products that have poor compliance to global healthcare, safety or environmental hazards are banned from going to market. Irrespective of whether it is toys or idols or engineering goods or food products etc. This is a major lacunae in India and under the excuse of generating employment, India is being turned into a dumping ground for junk goods both from within and outside.

Anti-dumping: Govt should reform the Indian Standards Institution to conduct research and establish stringent quality guidelines and standards at par with global standards for every product and system that either an India based company brings to market or a Foreign company sells to customers in India. The checks should ensure that products that have poor compliance to global healthcare, safety or environmental hazards are banned from going to market.

1. Review of IT Act.. the total revenue collection from IT is far less that from customs & excise. Why not repeal IT Act and instead bring a transaction based tax. law. 2. The automobile service centres be brought under service tax 3. The broadband/ internet services be fully exempted from service tax, if we really want the dream of DIGITAL INDIA come true.

STT/CTT: Any short term gains/losses in eqity or debt(incurred within a period of 1 year) should be cumulated and declared u/s Income from salary and other sources. All long term gains/losses in equity/debt (incurred beyond a period of 1 year) should be considered as long term capital gains and taxed accordingly.

STT and CTT: Both these taxes, while offering a convenient mechanism for the govt. to collect taxes at source from the capital markets, are fundamentally in violation of the principles of taxation. Given that all capital market transactions are highly digitized and automated on the nation's Exchanges today, the govt. should derive a mechanism for cumulating profits/losses earned by such transactions at source.

For Farmers have long term loan say of 10 years and so schemed such that out of 10 years they have to pay for any 7 years emi. only. The rest 3 years should be used in case of Draught and calamities. But it should be made compulsory to pay EMI if there is no Draught declared by Govt.. This will avoid burden on Govt. of Loanwaivers

However a rich promoter who holds upto 75% equity in his company will not be able to shower himself with millions of tax free dividend every year cheating the exchequer. Same should hold true for dividends earned by trusts, FIs, Mutual Funds and other entities that hold considerable equity holdings in companies.

Regarding taxes related to Capital markets, abolish dividend distribution tax. Instead include income earned by way of dividends by individual investors or promoters to be cumulated and declared "u/s Income from Salary and other sources", without any exceptions. That way a retired individual who lives on dividends for his income will stand to benefit upto the limits provided u/s 80c and lower rates of tax in the base slab. continued...
