I have prepared a very user-friendly business model and framework for this internet cum mobile application where each player in the supply chain is able to buy/sell products belonging to its own ecosystem and then each such ecosystem is connected finally to the master database grid managed by the government. This master database will serve as a knowledge powerhouse for government policy decision making and e-governance. A DIGITAL INDIA initiative, worth considering!

Develop a internet cum mobile application for real-time posting by ALL PLAYERS in the fruits and vegetable supply chain of their products for buy and sell with price tag. For perishable products time is of essence, farmers can save time by not going to mandis, because suppliers in mandis will come to them if price is right, same applicatican be used by other players in chain i.e. wholesalers, manufacturers, supermarkets, retail shops, hotels & home consumers. All can buy & sell through this app.

its better to consume then to loose Sir I know that its necessary to reduce the wastage but for this we would need modern technology which are used by developed countries and some developing countries too.I know that these technologies can not come to India quickly it will take some time so till then the production which gets wasted can be send to market under government plan and policies so that no black marketing could be done and also the food which get wasted will be reached to public thank you.

Warehousing and cold chain should be established to control the wastage of fruits , vegetables and other perishable foods.Warehouse and cold storage should be set up near railway stations so that the faster movement of food items can be ensured. Where faster transport means are not available food processing units should be set up to create the job and processing of food products. agro coaches may be added to local trains like mail coach for faster delevery of fruits and vegitables to Mandis.

instead of Keeping food items in large warehouse of FCI, Govt. should build small warehouse under FCI control in each gram-panchayat. depanding on need of the population of that village we should stock food items with them and try to consume locally and nearby areas. the village which are producing items which required cold storage in warehouse itself we should build one cold-storage in each village gram-panchayat. Frozen food stores can be powered by using alternative energy resources like wind energy which makes them low cost and maibtainance system . Theses must be set at intersection of major connecting roads or highways for easy access from multiple places to reduce cost of transport. These centers can be created by public private partnership. Also transporting using gunny bags must be shifted to plastic crates. This can reduce the 15 to 20 percent food loss due to mechanical transport damage.

Respected sir, the idea of cold storage is good. But there are two types of cold storages one which includes refrigeration and the other is freezing. Frozen food is better than cold storing. It preserves more nutrients and causes less aging of food. Frozen fruits and vegetables are send for freezing soon after they are plucked from the farm. This slows the enzyme action inside the food and keeps them fresh for long even months. Setting up these frozen food centers by government is essential

Our Hon'able PM,Modi'ji, first of all, wish you a very happy, healthy and successful 2015.I am very proud of the way in which you are building India steps ahead.I am living in Kolkata,WB, one of the largest producer of potato and other vegetables, but in our city, price of vegetable is to much, for example,1kg Potato=Rs.20-23 (varies in market to market).I am an average single incoming member of my family and hereby requesting you,pl.try to control the price of these veg. to an affordable limit.
