Taking serious note of the latest decision of the National Green Tribunal (NGT), the Chandigarh Administration has speed up the enforcement of ban imposed on the use of polythene carry bags/plastic bags/plates/cups and other allied material in Union Territory of Chandigarh. As per NGT directions there is also provision of imposing fine of Rs.5, 000/- "Environmental Compensation" to the erring person/entity per event, along with seizure of such stocks.

With the help of this discussion platform the Administration requests you to 'report the violations' (attach pictures or other details) regarding use of plastic carry bag/plate/cup and allied items on ww.mygov.in. Also, we would like to read your suggestions/ideas as well as practical/workable solutions for complete imposition of plastic (carry bag/cup/plate and allied items) ban in Chandigarh.

First we should stop the misuse of Plastic ban.. At the sake of Plastic Ban, Malls and Supermarket like Big Bazar, Reliance, Shopperstop are making crore of rupees. They are selling plastic bags at the cost of 5 to 7 rupee per bag. On the name of environment friendly , they all are making money. This is heights of corruption. Contribution to Environment would be when these industries uses cotton or jute bags rather selling plastics.

this will work.first the government must provide the people with some plastic bags of all sizes which must come with good handles,must be washable,so the people will prefer to take them wherever they go and dont buy any new polythene bags.the people and police must question people who carry other polytheūne bags.in rural areas some still prefer taking bags from home to shops .this culture will come everywhere.this technique is also very suitable to indians.

Southern Tamil Nadu have more number of coconut trees after extracting coconut the remaining waste can be used for ropes now a days. The same can be utilized for bags and other associated items by hand made. By developing a small scale industries that can be implemented to replace plastic.

It is a very serious issues, that use of plastic carry Bag should immediately be stopped and a fine may be imposed to manufacturers and users in retail part. On the other hand, same manufacturers may be encourages to make Jute bags and carry bags made fro papers for daily use. Concerned ministry may encourages through various subsidy schemes to encourage manufacturers and users. Polythene bags below the standard thick are easy to make and gets huge productions, so some schemes are needed.

Instead of giving suggestions based on my personal views or usage of banned plastic material, We must get the feedback from the entities which use the banned plastic on large scale. What benefit do they get against the traditional non plastic material. Then we must concentrate on making the alternatives as beneficial as plastic or make the banned plastic less beneficial (non affordable).The biggest benefit with plastic; it is cheap and handy. Gov can control the cost, now think sol for latter.

As per my view point I can say INDIA is a country where awareness lays only for some extent . So the thing modi govt has to do is to ban plastics with strict rules . They has to appoint volunteers with creation of employment so that Imposition of law works out effectively. As those volunteers will monitor no use of plastics.also government should setup non plastic bags shops for vendor and other sellers . It will bring attitudinal awareness among people for no use of plastics.

identify and raids should be carried on the plastic /polythene covers manufacturers. Do not allow people to carry anything in plastic bags and polythene covers. ban complete use of plastic/polythene covers. do not allow bio-degradable bags, in that guise some of them are mixing with it other quality polythene and plastic bags. So let us create a slogan no plastic / polythene use. U have to ban even plastic bags used by cloth show centers and cloth shops. total plastic/polythene should be banned.

recycling garbages must be invented with simple solar ionic electrodes,it can decompose and deform the palstic wastage and other wastages.in my view every street must contain a recycling machine.It is not an easy task but if it is done we can clean the country most globalwarming .
