Guwahati is one of the fastest developing cities and a major center to Eastern India spread over 264 sq km and connected with north-eastern states of Tripura, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh. It has developed road (NH 31, 37, 40), broad-gauge railway and air connectivity (domestic/international) with the rest of the country and South East Asian countries. Planned Satellite townships may be developed in the fringe areas of the city.Within the city all available govt lands, including forest land, should be preserved. Some roads like GNB road and RG Barua road may be reconstructed as 2/3 layered flyovers.A rapid river transport system over Brahmaputra may be developed from Jalukbari to Chandrapur.

The city can be smart but what concerns me most is the lack of open spaces, greenery and parks in Guwahati. The rising population and the lack of greenery is leading to a formation of CO2 which is causing a greenhouse effect in Guwahati. Hence I believe, there should be plenty of tree plantations and open green spaces all over the city like the Dighalipukhuri Area. Besides that, most of the features are covered in the Smart City Mission. #SmartCity #missionsmartguwahati #MyGov #Guwahati

Industry, institutions, commercial establishment are the driving force of economy to a city. To boost economy one have to give platform for establishing business set up. In Guwahati Building Permission process should be made user friendly & quick. GMDA &GMC both gives permission. This harassment should be removed. ULB should get priority in giving permission. Town Planner, Architect should be engaged more in Planning Branch for smooth functioning.
