The vibrancy of Vadodara has inspired generations before, and continues to awe the nation with its cultural inclusivity and cosmopolitan demographics. Situated on the banks of river Vishwamitri and 139 kilometers from the state capital of Gandhinagar, Vadodara domiciles 2.2 million citizens as per 2011 census.
In the Round-1 of Smart City Challenge, citizens of Baroda envisaged an urban town model which had an ambitious approach towards sustainable growth using Information Technology and other progressive infrastructural methods. Vadodara has now been nominated for the Round-2 of the Smart City Challenge wherein an updated proposal for Smart City will be pitched against 22 other competing cities in India. To make it a successful citizen centric initiative, Vadodara Municipal Corporation invites you, the citizens of Vadodara to share informed suggestions and opinions for making Vadodara an inevitable ‘Gateway to the Golden Quadrilateral’.

Your suggestions are the most imperative input for formulating a vision and implementing the same. Help us innovate and transform our city in to a Smart City.

To built smart city, public has to be educated with minimum qualification required so that his mind will automatically accept the change. He himself must understand what is good & bad for himself & society.Any plan made for the city must be developed with long term goal.In last few years many over bridges are built without any planning & they all are now of no use instead have developed new problems like lalbaug over bridge.

One thing I should mention for Baroda is, first focus on how we could handle flow of "Vishvamitri river" in case of monsoon. As there were always been flood situation in case of more rain. Either we can increase depth of river or divert or something else which ever best according to calculations.
