MyGov Talk with Hon. Minister Shri Prakash Javadekar on Climate Change

In the run-up to COP (Conference of Parties) 21 scheduled in Paris from 30th November to 11th December 2015, MyGov and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change are pleased to announce a MyGov Talk with the Honourable Minister, Shri Prakash Javadekar on the 26th October 2015 at 5.00PM in collaboration with Google India.

With India's Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC), the country is keen to attempt to work towards a low carbon emission pathway, while simultaneously endeavouring to meet all the developmental challenges that the country faces today. The INDC aims at promoting clean energy, especially renewable energy, enhancement of energy efficiency, development of less carbon intensive and resilient urban centres, promotion of waste to wealth, safe, smart and sustainable green transportation network, abatement of pollution and India’s efforts to enhance carbon sink through creation of forest and tree cover.

Citizens are invited to share their ideas, questions and inputs on India's role in COP21 and on the following proposals laid down by INDC:

• Sustainable Lifestyles
• Cleaner Economic Development
• Reduce Emission intensity of Gross Domestic Product (GDP)
• Increase the Share of Non Fossil Fuel Based Electricity
• Enhancing Carbon Sink (Forests)
• Adaptation
• Mobilizing Finance
• Technology Transfer and Capacity Building

Selected ideas and names would also be mentioned by the Hon. Minister and other experts during the MyGov Talk.
Contributors from MyGov, Climate Change Experts, senior journalists and social media influencers will join the panel discussion with Shri Prakash Javadekar.

CLIMATE JUSTICE - INDC- SUGGESTIONS - CONTD. X 14.Collaborating with the best in terms of transfer of technology, expertise and practices. CLIMATE JUSTICE - INDC - SUGGESTIONS - IX 13. SEBI may be involved to create investors’ awareness around the concepts of financial instruments like ‘Green Bonds’, and companies approaching, listed at Stock markets may be mandatorily advised to undertake that their businesses are in compliance of socio-economic, and environment norms (annual renewal). we have 5000 hotels per metro city. These hotels use 12 lit per dish washing . Each hotel drain 12000 lit of water every day. hence 6 crores of water is drained without water recycling. considering 1 lit water cost rs 0.19 , we drain Rs 1,14,00,000 per day per metro city . presuming there are 100 cities /state. Thus we can save precious water by recycling. we have evolved low cost water recycling machine for " save water" project.

CLIMATE JUSTICE - INDC - SUGGESTIONS - CONTD. - VIII 11.Pivotal projects,i.e.,‘Smart City project’, ‘Housing for All 2022’ etc. and other urban development projects, need to integrate concept of green belts, adoption of solar / renewable energy equipments, rain water harvesting etc.into the overall planning process. 12. Fastest and truly sustainable source of bulk electricity by using limited resource of land and water , while providing systems stability with growing solar and wind generation in the immediate term,is hydropower of all capacities. It also helps economic efficiency and growth,enhances ecology and provides energy and development of hinterland. It is truly renewable .We need to declare hydropower as RENEWABLE as major step to achieve the INDC commitments and stabilize+lower cost of bulk power.

Respected Honorable Minister Sir, I have knowledge & experience in Waste management including e-waste & bio-medical waste and keen interested to participate and to do a lot in pollution control and environmentally friendly atmosphere,But having problem of finance and Land to start incineration and landfill plant. if Govt. can help me in this regard then I can put my 100% in this pious work of Climate change & pollution free environment. please suggest and guide. CLIMATE JUSTICE - INDC - CONTD - VII 10. Government needs to engage with celebrities and business magnates, whose interests and motives influence the lifestyles in a Society. This is a very time consuming process to be handled in a patient and subtle manner. Talk shows etc. may be conducted to analyse the societal responses on special days like the ‘World Earth Day’. 2. Incentives to auto manufacturers for making hybrid cars and electric mopeds.excise duty cuts on hybrid cars and electric 2 wheelers and 3 wheelers. 3. Issue licenses to operate electric charging stations on existing fuel stations. 4. Promote electric & solar cookers,stoves to cut use of lpg and kerosene for cooking.

Here are a few suggestions. 1. Introduce Natural resource accounting system. 2. Set GDP growth targets for each state. 3. Form a party audit committee to monitor how well each party MP, MLA, Corporator is managing his constituency. Let audit team make quarterly visits to constituency, make report, suggest implementation plan.
