MyGov Talk with Hon. Minister Shri Prakash Javadekar on Climate Change

In the run-up to COP (Conference of Parties) 21 scheduled in Paris from 30th November to 11th December 2015, MyGov and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change are pleased to announce a MyGov Talk with the Honourable Minister, Shri Prakash Javadekar on the 26th October 2015 at 5.00PM in collaboration with Google India.

With India's Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC), the country is keen to attempt to work towards a low carbon emission pathway, while simultaneously endeavouring to meet all the developmental challenges that the country faces today. The INDC aims at promoting clean energy, especially renewable energy, enhancement of energy efficiency, development of less carbon intensive and resilient urban centres, promotion of waste to wealth, safe, smart and sustainable green transportation network, abatement of pollution and India’s efforts to enhance carbon sink through creation of forest and tree cover.

Citizens are invited to share their ideas, questions and inputs on India's role in COP21 and on the following proposals laid down by INDC:

• Sustainable Lifestyles
• Cleaner Economic Development
• Reduce Emission intensity of Gross Domestic Product (GDP)
• Increase the Share of Non Fossil Fuel Based Electricity
• Enhancing Carbon Sink (Forests)
• Adaptation
• Mobilizing Finance
• Technology Transfer and Capacity Building

Selected ideas and names would also be mentioned by the Hon. Minister and other experts during the MyGov Talk.
Contributors from MyGov, Climate Change Experts, senior journalists and social media influencers will join the panel discussion with Shri Prakash Javadekar.

Dear sir, You know very well the answer, i.e. TREES AND JUNGLE are the only answer to it, but we are not having any alternate to the use of wood. You know the answer, everyone knows the answer, but no one wants to address it. In the name of industrialisation thousands of jungles have been chopped off. Neither the previous govt. Nor yours, have ever got it simple. Mines and land can be made available to the industries, only and only if they create double the size of their plant.

The livestock industry contributes more than transport to global warming. Transport accounts for 13% of carbon emissions. Carbon emissions from the meat industry range from a United Nations quoted 18% to 51% which was quoted by WorldWatch, a US think-tank. India exports 23.3 percent of total world beef production. Massive lowering of carbon emissions can be achieved by restraining/regulating beef exports, which would decrease local beef production consequently, since there is weak local demand.

Involve locals, especially in the ghat sections to enhance the nature, since they know the in and out of their environment, they can teach it to the tourists and create awareness about the value of nature. Cant leave every thing to officers they will be doing for salary, involve interested volunteers

Principal of Institute of Aviation and Aviation Safety in Mumbai. Deeply interested in plants and nature and has been a hands on Cashew planter for over 15 years. Has taken keen interest in welfare of neighboring adivasis and villagers and is accepted as a Gaavwala by them. Analytical mind and organizational skills developed over a long and exacting career were applied to this neglected field to successfully develop a plantation in spite of hostile environment faced by small farmers.

to give employment to needy unskilled labour to cut and gather this biomass and convert it to organic fertilizer. Increased use thereof shall reduce chemical fertilizer consumption, its ill effects and subsidy burden in an intelligent way. This win win venture shall create rural employment, prevent fires, reduce green house gasses, improve environment, avoid global warming, claim carbon credits , reduce fertilizer subsidy and last but not the least improve the productivity of our
