MyGov Talk with Hon. Minister Shri Prakash Javadekar on Climate Change

In the run-up to COP (Conference of Parties) 21 scheduled in Paris from 30th November to 11th December 2015, MyGov and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change are pleased to announce a MyGov Talk with the Honourable Minister, Shri Prakash Javadekar on the 26th October 2015 at 5.00PM in collaboration with Google India.

With India's Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC), the country is keen to attempt to work towards a low carbon emission pathway, while simultaneously endeavouring to meet all the developmental challenges that the country faces today. The INDC aims at promoting clean energy, especially renewable energy, enhancement of energy efficiency, development of less carbon intensive and resilient urban centres, promotion of waste to wealth, safe, smart and sustainable green transportation network, abatement of pollution and India’s efforts to enhance carbon sink through creation of forest and tree cover.

Citizens are invited to share their ideas, questions and inputs on India's role in COP21 and on the following proposals laid down by INDC:

• Sustainable Lifestyles
• Cleaner Economic Development
• Reduce Emission intensity of Gross Domestic Product (GDP)
• Increase the Share of Non Fossil Fuel Based Electricity
• Enhancing Carbon Sink (Forests)
• Adaptation
• Mobilizing Finance
• Technology Transfer and Capacity Building

Selected ideas and names would also be mentioned by the Hon. Minister and other experts during the MyGov Talk.
Contributors from MyGov, Climate Change Experts, senior journalists and social media influencers will join the panel discussion with Shri Prakash Javadekar.

global warming and atmospheric pollution. Secondly, huge quantity of biomass that can be converted to bio fertilizer is destroyed. Bio fertilizer can increase carbon content, water holding capacity and productivity of soil. The Dynamic NDA Government is keen to tweak the MNREGA and make it more productive. Honorable PM Shri Narendra Modi is also keen to improve the agricultural productivity and promote organic farming in a big way. What could be better than to utilize MNREGA fund

implementation of the EIA for industry is veey poor. the local level oofficials are not aware and only interested in passing time. Law should be made stringent with very heavy fines and punishment for evaders.at the same time compliance should be encouraged by offering rewards like abayement of excise duty and sales tax payable. this will encoueage compliance and also go a long way in removing rhe hesitancy for industry ro comply.

1.build roads with fruit trees on both sides 2.set up solar panel in every govt. approved construction 3.set up water harvesting techniques in every society 4.promote vertical growth of cities rather than horizontal growth 5.setup proper sewage systems in all villages and cities 6.at least set up dustbins in public places and arrange for their proper servicing. may i request you the count of dustbins that we have in the connaught place area of delhi considered as the most posh area?

There can be arguments over safety of nuclear energy plants.We can select safest technology available in the world.Should not pay heed to prophets of doom. We are going to use nuclear plant for power generation to uplift lives of millions of people deprived of benefits of development and not for making weapons of mass destruction as many countries are doing.Nuclear energy is comparatively cleaner than thermal power plants. Solar power has capacity restrictions. Can be used in local network only

India has to protect its own interest first. To fulfill our energy needs, we have to optimally use all options apart from solar or other renewable sources. Thermal plants near coal pits and ports, Ultra nuclear plants near sea with enhanced safety features are the solutions. It can be borne in mind that no human activity is absolute environment friendly. Nothing comes from no where and nothing goes no where.

sir, Request to ban the manufacture of plastic bags (covers)as it is becoming more harmful than any other form of environmental pollution. plastic takes 1000 years to decompose completely. It will harm plant life,future generation, animals , marine eco system. it puts in great difficulties that it releases toxic gases when burnt. we therefore request you to ban completely plastic covers (bags) completely and promote jute bags, cotton bags, paper bags, we shall be greatful for such help

These are very big projects and can`t be tackled by playing with data.We as a citizen,never find any R&D institution or ministry associated dept who can place on record the road map and show progress with evidences on public record on regular basis.Until this happens,it is useless to call citizens for views, that does`t find better place than dust bin. What citizen`s opinion will do,when there is no transparency of the dept affairs,except that dept makes rules and plans with huge funds.
