Bilaspur Smart City Talk

As per the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Urban Development for smart city challenge, the third Stakeholder/Citizen consultation meeting is being organized by Bilaspur Municipal Corporation on 1/11/2015. The meeting will start at 4:00pm at Lal Bahadur Shastri School, Dikshit Sabha Bhavan.

Discussion on the options of Pan city and Area Development projects will be carried out during the talk show.

The meeting will be headed by Member of Parliament (C.G.) Mr. Lakhan Lal Sahu, in the presence of Mayor Bilaspur Mr. Kishor Rai, Municipal Commissioner Mrs. Ranu Sahu. Members of Laghu Udyog Sangh, Merchant Association, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club and Lions Club will also be present in the talk show.

Create ATM like centers to pay Electricity Bill, telephone Bill, recharge mobile phones every 2 Kms within the radius.

Non polluting transport: Plan for nonpolluting public transport. Introduce CNG buses or fuel cell or solar buses. The city should have air conditioned bus services also

A city is not smart until it manages its waste well. Waste management process should be decentralised and locality based, quick and real time. It is surprising to note that 70% of waste is organic in nature & can be reprocessed before it becomes waste or, thereafter, can be recycled in a sustainable manner. Along with development of old cities into a smart city there is also the need of hours to develop and adopt a model code for development of new cities Pan India for continuous pace of Smart Development.

All the parks in the city should be fully accessible on par with ‘universal design’ guidelines so that the physically challenged and aged can easily access with wheel chairs etc.
