A fifteen-year-old girl, Tanishka Aglave, born in a village in Maharashtra, India, has made a significant contribution toward solving a major agricultural challenge in the United States. Tanishka has received numerous awards for her work, including the United States President’s Environmental Youth Award and the H. Robert Horvitz Award for Fundamental Research. She developed a formulation derived from the Indian plant curry leaf (Kadipatta ) to combat citrus greening disease, one of the most devastating diseases affecting orange crops. The citrus industry in the United States has struggled with this disease for more than 26 years, and her formulation represents one of the first promising solutions for its management. Her work has opened new economic opportunities by creating demand for curry leaf–based extracts produced in India. A U.S.-based biopesticide company has already placed an order for 20,000 liters of curry leaf extract formulation from Pune, India and many more to come..

Respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, I respectfully wish to highlight a serious issue faced by many citizens regarding bank account debit freezes during cyber crime investigations. In many cases entire bank accounts are frozen even when the disputed amount is small and the account holder is not accused of any wrongdoing. These freezes often continue for months, causing severe financial hardship.Courts in India and internationally have emphasized the principle of proportionality and protection of citizens’ rights, stating that only the disputed amount should be restricted whenever possible. However, in practice some authorities continue to maintain full debit freezes and do not promptly act even when legal provisions or court principles exist.I humbly request that clear national guidelines be issued so that banks and police authorities promptly follow court orders and restrict only the disputed amount while allowing access to the remaining balance.

I have submitted several grievances to the PMO. The PMO forwards them to the State Government, but unfortunately the responses from the state departments are often poor and the complaints are disposed of without any real solution. This defeats the purpose of the grievance system. Proper accountability and effective action at the state level are necessary so that citizens actually receive justice and resolution. 🇮🇳

The Government of India is doing commendable work in many areas and taking important steps for the nation’s development. 🇮🇳 However, the real challenge lies in implementation. The administrative system, sections of the judiciary, and parts of the media continue to function slowly and inefficiently. ⚖️📰 Without accountability, transparency, and timely action in these pillars, meaningful change on the ground remains limited. It is time for serious reforms so that governance truly reaches the people.
