(1) Seek participation of Industry in developing syllabi, curricula etc. for skill devpt. programmes and for giving industrial training as a part of such programmes. (2) Make industrial training compulsory in various skill devpt. programmes. (3) Make subjects like soft skills, computers and English compulsory for skill devpt. courses. (4) Increase the practical component vis-a-vis the theory component in skill devpt. courses.

1. Exposure to actual work environment during training (OJT). 2. Periodic review of syllabus for relevance and obsolesce. 3. On Job Industry Experience to Teachers. 4. University carrying out gap analysis between industry requirements and passing out students skill potential. 5. Colleges to develop a pool of volunteer professional individuals/ industries who are willing to support students training. 6. Education Institutes to publish the Competence Level for passing student of each course.

1. Change the law on child labour. If legal age for child labour is 14, then you are creating an inherent hurdle to secondary education and skill development 2. Atleast in government schools, class five upwards, starting teaching skills to children so that they can develop an interest that can be nurtured in later years 3. Encourage private sector to open up a small scale VTI as part of CSR to provide skills to the children of their employees atleast with the option to intern with the company.

As it is in the country like Canada, almost all engineering students and students from other fields should given a chance of doing co-op while they are in college. Universities should make policy that unless a student has finished x number of practical hours, the degree will not be granted to him.At the same time, Government should encourage both public and private companies to hire students from Universities/Colleges on part time basis.

Policies changes to spur skill development directly linked to industry needs

compulsory PGDiploma for group 1 officers every year in distance education mode they have to submit thesis or field report for research purpose from there place of work problems should practise new skills or methods to do the same thing differently e.g. a doctor shall take a village and analyse certain fever in the area medicines given etc an engineer shall propose utilization of local materials in different way agricultarist shall breed new variety of crop revenue inspector new tax system

Student should be given freedom to choose their own curriculum from a broad framework, sticking yourself to a syllabus which is not fulfilling to someone may lead to the underutilisation of an individual abilities. Not only academics but also extracurricular activities should be given adequate attention.

5.There is one fundamental change that is long due is we must start enrolling student on courses which are industry friendly or say relating to a particular research from very beginning that is from undergraduate level.

Empower the SME directly with fund from Govt as well as large companies to take 50% more employees every year for 6 months in a year. Let there be more skilled people in the market.

Students with less than 50% marks in any stream at Graduation level (by then they have tested their academic worth and ego gratification is over) should be offered employable skills at the same college premises in the evening hours(after college) from the small (repeat small )component manufacturing relating digital publishing, electronics, automobiles & agriculture. Identify these 4 industries as initials & train professionals... trained by ancillary industries & subsequently absorbed
